Chrysler is bringing back the Barracuda nameplate for 2015. It will be a direct replacement for the Dodge Challenger.
The car with be smaller and lighter than the outgoing Challenger. Making it a better competitor to the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. The new 2015 SRT Barracuda is expected to be 8 inches shorter than the outgoing Challenger and 300 lbs lighter.
Engine sizes have not been confirmed however the top level car will no doubt get a V8 Hemi. Base models will be fitted with a V6 or even Fiat’s new 2.4 litre inline four Tigershark engine with forced induction.
The Barracuda’s aggressive looks are more than just skin deep. The car is a great addition to Chrysler’s Street Racing and Technology division along with the all new 2013 SRT Viper that was just introduced a few months ago.
